Animal Years
Re-Brand
Self-Initiated

This project involved redesigning the brand identity for Animal Years, an indie-folk band based in Brooklyn, to better align their visual presence with their music and genre. The goal was to create an identity that reflects the meanings behind each album and the band's connection to their songs, while clearly positioning them within the indie-folk category through promotional materials and merchandise.
The new illustrations take both a literal and conceptual approach to represent the band’s interpretation of their music, making it accessible and relatable to their audience. The illustration style is rooted in the band's genre but flexible enough to allow for future growth, using a consistent color palette and aesthetic.
The redesign encompasses all existing merchandise and promotional materials, with additional designs to strengthen the band's overall identity. By revisiting past album artwork, this project highlights the importance of establishing a strong brand identity early in a band's career—one that can evolve naturally over time without the need for constant rebranding.
